A quick guide:

10x5 (50 sq ft) — About a large walk-in closet. Seasonal decorations, boxes, a few pieces of small furniture, business records.

10x10 (100 sq ft) — About half a garage. The contents of a one to two bedroom apartment, including a mattress set, sofa, dining set, and boxes.

10x15 (150 sq ft) — The contents of a two to three bedroom home, including major appliances.

10x20 or 20x10 (200 sq ft) — A three to four bedroom household, or household goods and appliances.

If you're stuck between two sizes, go with the larger one. A slightly bigger unit almost always costs less than renting a second unit later, and it leaves you an aisle to reach things at the back.

A 10x10 typically holds the contents of a one to two bedroom apartment: a queen or king mattress set, a sofa, a dresser, a dining table with chairs, a TV, several appliances, and roughly 15 to 20 boxes. It's the size most people need when moving between homes or downsizing. Stacked carefully, it holds more than people expect.

Kentucky summers are hot and humid, and winters swing well below freezing. That cycle is hard on certain belongings.

Choose climate control for: wood and leather furniture, mattresses, electronics, photographs, documents, artwork, musical instruments, vinyl records, candles, and anything you plan to store longer than a few months.

Standard drive-up is fine for: lawn equipment, tools, plastic storage bins, patio furniture, car parts, construction materials, and short-term moving storage.

The rule of thumb: if it would be damaged sitting in an uninsulated garage through a Kentucky August, it belongs in climate control.

Gate access is 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM, seven days a week, including weekends and holidays. That's a 16-hour window every day, so you can reach your unit before or after work without planning around office hours.

The property is monitored by digital video surveillance, and gate access is controlled and limited to 6 AM–10 PM daily. The facility is brand new, well lit, and every unit is fresh and has never been used.

Your invoices are populated on the 1st of each month and will be drawn automatically from your payment method on file. If you move-in during the middle of the month, your first month will be prorated. After that, recurring bills will be sent out on the 1st of each month.

For safety and legal reasons, storage units can't be used for perishable food, live animals or plants, flammable or explosive materials (gasoline, propane, fireworks), hazardous chemicals, firearms or ammunition, stolen or illegal goods, or anything that produces odor or attracts pests. Units also can't be used as a residence or workspace.
